Johann Aparicio-Bohórquez (Cello)

Johann Aparicio Bohórquez was born in 1984 in Lima and already performed at the age of eleven as soloist with the Lima Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed as a soloist with renowned orchestras such as the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra, Heilbronn, the Budapest strings, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Frankfurt, the Jena Philharmonic Orchestra and many others. In 2003, he began his music studies with Prof. Hans Christian Schweiker at the Musikhochschule Köln. Concert journeys led him to South Africa, Egypt, the United States and Europe, where he was solo cellist in the Youth Orchestra under the direction of Gustavo Dudamel and Leonard Slatkin. He is also soloist at the Europa Philharmonie. Johann Aparicio Bohórquez was inducted into the promotion by Yehudi Menuhins “Live Music Now”. Since 2010 he is fellow of “Villa Musica” Rhineland-Palatinate. He attended masterclasses with Prof. Wolfgang Boettcher, Claudio Bohórquez, Prof. Gerhard Mantel, Sebastian Klinger, Prof. Martin Löhr, David Cohen and Prof. Daniel Robert Graf. 2010-2011 John Aparicio Bohórquez was first solo cellist at Staatskapelle Weimar. Since 2012, he is engaged in this function at the Philharmonic Orchestra of the city of Heidelberg.

In our concert on 16th May 2015 in Jesuitenkirche Heidelberg Johann Aparicio-Bohórquez performed the concert for violoncello and orchestra d-Moll op.26 by Emil Hartmann.
